I had experimented with drum heads from another company which was located in Kansas at that time because, well, Neil Peart used them on his toms. When I began changing heads, the ceramic collar had molded itself to my Ludwig drum shell. I wasn’t too thrilled about the force with which I had to remove them and I was also reconsidering my sound at that time. Looking back, it was the right way to go. Does anything sound better than a coated Remo Ambassador on a snare drum? Remo has so many options when it comes to heads that the combinations are endless and limited to only what you can imagine!
