This is what one of Mike’s charts typically look like. Click to enlarge.
Necessity is the mother of invention and it was necessity which inspired this method of musical notation.
Early on, on my first road gig, I realized that I needed a way to convey musical information quickly so that I could sound authentic and that I did not have time to transcribe 80 songs, note for note. Hence this method came into being and has served me well over the past three decades.
During those past three decades, I received many panic calls of numerous bands needing a sub with very short notice, too short for a note for note transcription of every song.
The result was around 10,000 charts, some very detailed and some very basic, depending on the time constraints as well as the complexity of each song. These are NOT, however, note for note transcriptions nor are they meant to be. Consider them a form of shorthand.
This catalog is available to you, my fellow drummers, al a cart, for a nominal fee of $2.59 per page and, after purchase, are sent to your email from PayLoadz for immediate use. You get the song chart in both, JPEG & PDF formats.
For any of these charts, the drummer can sit down, listening to that song and follow along with the end result of having a better understanding and comprehension of that song in a very short time. The end result is a heightened experience of playing that particular song with more accuracy and more enjoyment.
